How to Play Autocrats

The keys mentioned in this article refer to default control settings. Key bindings can be adjusted in the options menu.

Exploration

Exploration

You can explore the open world, where each terrain has unique resources. Once you find a suitable place, you can establish your country. You must also gather supplies necessary for exploration.

Inventory

Inventory

Allows you to carry and store survival equipment for exploration. Accessible by pressing the Tab key.

Form Government

Form Government

When you find a suitable area, press the M key to select a name, capital name, and flag for your country.

Terrain Editor

Terrain Editor

After forming a government, you can modify the surrounding environment by flattening, raising, or lowering the terrain. Accessible by pressing the C key.

Construction

Construction

After forming a government and leveling the terrain, you can build roads, demolish structures, and construct buildings and decorations. Accessible by pressing the B key.

Pressing the M key allows switching between modes.

Components

Character

Controlled by the player throughout the game. To survive, they must either stay in a city or use supplies in the open world. When health reaches zero, they respawn in the nearest city.

Mora

Consists of human colonies and untouched nature. Human colonies store supplies necessary for survival, while untouched nature is rich in resources.

Government

Forms and enforces policies based on its assets.

State

Comprises a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 9 parcels. It has a name and belongs to a government. The owning government can deploy a garrison, and in times of war, it can be attacked by other governments.

Parcel

The game world is divided into equal square parcels. Each parcel has unique resource values and can accommodate up to 16 economic facilities.

Economic Facilities

Used for production and military purposes.
